Day to Night Holiday Makeup

Day to Night Holiday Makeup

The start of the holiday season is here! Which is known to be the most wonderful time of the year but can also be stressful at the same time. Especially when you need to dash to a party right after work and rather not carry a giant tote bag of your makeup, right!

Above is a holiday makeup look that you can do quicker than you can say egg nog with just 3 small products in your purse.

How to Create the Look:

Before you leave home

  1. Apply a face primer to create a smooth canvass and keep your makeup in it’s place from day to night.

  2. Apply foundation, contour, highlight, and blush as you normally would.

  3. Prime your eyelids with an eyeshadow primer.

  4. Apply a base shadow on your lid in a light grey* tone or any color you feel suits you.

  5. Contour your crease with a deeper shade of grey* and blend to soften edges between your lid and at the outer corner of your eye.

  6. Apply a highlight shadow under the brow such as a shimmery white or beige and blend where it meets the crease.

  7. Finish your eye look with a coat of mascara.

  8. Lastly, lightly spray a finishing spray all over your face to set your makeup.

* If grey shadow isn’t your thing feel free to switch it up to whatever color you feel best suits you. Just keep in mind that the color you apply in the crease should be a bit darker than what you apply on your lid.

How to Transition From Day to Night

  1. Gently blot (don’t rub) your face with blotting paper if your skin appears a bit shiny at the end of the day.

  2. Line your top and bottom lash line with a black gel like eyeliner pencil (not gel in a pot) and gently smudge with your finger or a smudge brush for a smoky effect.

  3. Strategically dot on that same black gel like eyeliner pencil at the outer corner of your eyelid and crease then gently smudge inwards, again for a smoky effect.

  4. Turn up the volume on your lashes with another coat of mascara. And comb with a metal lash comb to separate if needed.

  5. Lastly, finish your look with a nude or subtle lip gloss so that you don’t look too overdone.
